Have you about ever thought about SecondLife’s accessibility to the blind? Or, do you think that there simply aren’t any visually challenged people in what seems to be a highly sight-oriented virtual world? Our first guest, SL resident Louise Later is legally blind in real life and she is here to tell you differently. Louise will be talking to us about how people without sight are able to enjoy their Second Lives, including such innovations as a scripted SL Seeing Eye dog! Louise is the real world co-founder of the Los Angeles Radio Reading Service; a service that broadcasts very current material such as best-selling books, daily newspapers, and popular magazines on a 24 hour basis so that everyone has the same access to information as those who can see. Her goal is to bring this service into SecondLife to improve SL’s inclusion of those with disabilities.

Then be prepared to be wowed by this Sunday’s musical guest, Damian Carbenell, a really awesome singer! who will bring us his alternative rock inspired music. Damian is a self proclaimed music lover who has been practicing the art since the age of ten. His music style is reminiscent to a wide range of influences boasting the likes of Fall Out Boy and The Eagles. With this varying style Damian creates his original music which stems from real life experiences. This artist’s live SL performances already draw quite crowd in our virtual world, so come down to the Tonight Live Studio and hear this wonderful artist for yourself and find out what many others already know: Damian rocks.

What is it with the popularity of fishing in SL… especially when the name Seven Seas is tied to it?  I bring this up because you have no doubt noticed the massive increase in Seven Sea fishing vendors across the grid. This insanely popular, slightly addictive and highly fun game seems to be taking over SecondLife with its multitude of one of a kind prizes, rods, and pet fish; In fact, I don’t think you can go shopping without bumping into a “prime” fishing spot.  The creators of Seven Seas Fishing, brother and sister: Seven and Jen Shikami will be here to a talk to us about their game… Hopefully they can tell us why they made it so much fun?

  1. Hiya Paisley,

Nothing to do with this post, but thanks for speaking up the other day on Metaversally Speaking in support of my comment on entitlement and how live performance is devalued the same way “tangible” content is. I liked the ideas you mentioned, about previews/cover charge, etc. My hubby-slash-bandmate and I are looking into the Hermes system of making a downloadable CD; you buy the CD in SL and then it enables you to download the music tracks right onto your desktop to play in iTunes (or whatever player one might use). We’re hoping it will be a reasonable way to get our music “out there” to a broader audience while still making rent.

Anyway, thanks for the support, good to know it’s not just me seeing it.

    –Mist
