This Is INCREDIBLE! Live n Kickin & Dexter Ihnen

Second Life Australian Musician, Dexter Ihnen has allways been ahead of the crowd. His singing and music is incredible and as a result he has one of the largest fan groups in Second Life. The live experience he has had in his long music and performing career shows in his live shows. Whether he is playing just Guitar and vocals, or using tracks or loops to add volume. Its clear that Dexter is so incredibly polished and talented its no surprise he has such a huge fan group in SL and his shows are allways packed out!.

Dexter has taken a break from SL for a few months and in the insuing time he has come back with a whole Sim full of ideas and inspirations.

In this video Clip (below) filmed by Treet.tv and produced by Perfect World Productions, (Paisley Beebe’s Company) you will experience a performance you have never seen or heard in Second Life Live music before.

The inspiration for this show goes back to when Dex starting planning the next level of his shows, months ago. Yes his music is incredible, but he wanted to use the platform of Second Life to its fullest advantage to create “The Dream” as he calls it. To create a stage and a performance that would in real life cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of planning to do.

Live TV Music Show “Live n Kickin” a “Perfect World Production” with Delinda Dyrssen as its Music Producer decided it was time for Dexter to be on the best Live Music show filmed in Virtual Reality. “Live n Kickin” is a Virtual Reality TV Show, using real life musicians and Second Life as a platform to showcase their Music and gain international fans and recognition. As “Live n Kickin” exec Producer and its Artististic Director I didn’t have to do much….Dexter and his team did all the pre produciton work on the show, along with Delinda Dyrssen our Producer. Dexter had a professional RL coreographer, special effects experts, dancers Band memebers and he built the Stage and the build at the Turquoise Planet, and designed his own choreography.

Treet.tv showed what professionals they are, turning up and filming on the spot without rehearsal! They operated three computer cameras throughout the concert, whizzing around the action, and getting some of the most incredible shots I’ve ever seen in virtual world machinima. Dexter sang and played his guitar live with loops and backings right through the show, whilst moving his own avatar around the stage! diving…flying dancing and even lying flat on stage playing his guitar!

It’s only on looking back at the barely edited video that I can see what the total effort was. And not only by the on stage crew and film crew, but the Audience! who were there at the set well before filming started,  taking part in the show like real extras in a real life Rock Video!

This folks… is an incredible Show. The sim was capped at 71 and yes! it was packed and people were still trying to get in, but we had to restrict it to be able to rez everything. I dare you to try and sit still while watching this!

On watching the final cut on my 22 inch screen High Def, all the way through, I was dancing around my room volume turned up full! and clapping my hands with glee at the shots that Treet.tv managed to get that enhanced what Dexter had planned, Dexter flying through the air and landing in a crouch on stage, The dancers dancing in time to the music and somersaulting in their cat suits over the heads of the raptured crowd, then the music built to an absolute frenzy! The show was planed beautifully with a progression of songs including a new release called “Do You Wanna Be” (that may be in my opinion, Dexter’s best song yet) that led to Dexter’s final song in the 40 mins set, the popular “100th Monkey” which was pitched perfectly to the SL audience ensconced in a Galactic Space ship hurtling through virtual space!

This is not just a great piece of Machinima, it shows off Dexter Ihnen’s incredible talent, and shows off beautifully what Second Life and virtual reality can and should be! 71 people in a virtual room from all around the globe experiencing a totally mind blowing Live Music show in Second Life. And not only that! The film can NOW be seen by all of you.
