This Week on Live n Kickin Keiko @ Greenies!

{“I started out playing [Second Life] gigs as a hobby,” she tells me, “and I enjoyed an immensely positive reaction from my audience. It was great getting a rock-star feel from the comfort of my own home.”  It also gained her a profile on MTV and a social network of other SL-based musicians.  That turned her hobby into a vocation.

“I moved to San Francisco,” she says, “where local indy musicians roam wild and form a strong, supportive community.” With the encouragement of them and her fanbase of SL supporters, she recently began performing at open mic nights in San Francisco. Cylindrian Rutabaga, another musician popular in Second Life who was touring in the city, helped get her a couple gigs; at the first one, Philip Linden himself was there to see her play.

Keiko’s “Wild Ride” Continues with a special performance by her and her new band The Shebangs on Live n Kickin January 5 2010 9:00PM PST (SLT) at RezzablesGreenies Sim in Second Life.

On a dark, starry night in August 2007, Greenies crashed their spaceship in the virtual world. They ended up at Greenies Home Sim, a supersized house – scale 28:1 – where they are constantly busy exploring, creating and just having fun. Greenies keep a shop – in the kitchen cabinet – trying to save up for materials to constantly build better and newer spaceship. For leisure, they opened Club G in an old radio.  You can spend hours, discovering all crazy little details builders Pavig Lok and LittleToe Bartlett added to this place. If you don’t feel like just flying around, feel free to rezz your own transportation: a hot sports car, husky slay or a hooverboard, all go!
