Delinda Dyrssen A Treasure
Delinda has been working with Perfect World Productions a while now, it might even be 2 years, and through thick and thin, serious illness accidents and drama, she has remained a loyal and wonderfull friend and colleague.
She is the producer of Live n Kickin and through her efforts largely has brought it to a level where it is seriously the most watched music show in virtual reality if not the most watched show!
Delinda is motivated only by her love of people and Music, in SL nothing else…she works so hard to showcase the musicians she admires and loves. She has told me many times that I need not pay her for her work…but damn, she deserves it!
During the time I’ve known Delinda I have never found one person who has had any contact with her that has said a bad word about her.
She’s not perfect, I’ve never met such a scatter brain in all my life! well thats not true my son qualifies also…Her life, however is full of adventure as a result…eg. she crashed her car earlier this year…into …..the worlds most expensive Car. a Bugatti!!! Her insurance company bailed after a 35 grand payout!!! and it was only a ding! this girl does nothing by halves! She has nearly died on several occasions from body parts failing her, she has sat next to murderers in cafe’s only to find out that she was lucky not to be his next victim, we were in a meeting once, when she was bedridden after her kidney transplant…(try and keep her down!) when she thought someone was breaking into her house! and we were on Skype while she phoned the police and hid in the bedroom……(the alarm went off…faulty) Police NOT happy, but we were
We all had visions of her being stabbed in her bed while we were on Skype listening to the entire thing…
She has personally made me cry and had me absolutely in terror for fear of her circumstances…If you are a friend of Del’s be prepared to bounce along with her adventures! Her SL name should possibly be Calamity Jane, the things she has been through in her short life, are either an elaborate hoax or she has had the worst luck( or good luck if you see her narrow escapes as fortunate) that I’ve witnessed ever..
The girl is like an energy bunny, nothing will stop her from logging on, even hospital…and she has a demanding RL job that gets her travelling all over the globe. She never stops!
Del has the weirdest sense of humor, and sometimes I bar her from meetings cause she is so damn distracting, when her RL phone rings she has this really annoying Banana Phone gesture that goes off. She dances with the stupidest dances you’ve ever seen during serious meetings, when we are all trying to concentrate…she has a gesture for every occasion, and a hat for every occasion. I once sent her a hat that had a loud speaker on it, that went off when you put it on, I saw it in a shop and knew she would love it, however she was nearly banned from a sim wearing it during a concert! I didn’t tell her it did that when she put it on…
Delinda has had me spitting all over my computer with laughter, and on the floor literally rolling around cacking myself with her antics…
She was interviewed on Tonight Live and at the end of her segment, said “I gotta go Pee” and she did! mortified….
Despite all the calamity Del is good natured, incredibly positive and never lets any of her calamity befall her freinds…
With my 3rd Anniversary of Tonight Live coming up this week, its my honour and delight to know such a vibrant person in Delinda Dyrssen, she is my friend and my co-worker. She is beautiful both inside and out.
Thankyou Del for all the laughs the tears and the groans…
I Love you
Paisley

aww thats beautiful paisley i agree Del is a treasure
your an awesome friend
Paisley, this is such a wonderful post. In a world that can be ripe with drama, negativity, competition and things of that nature, you have stepped up to pay tribute to a friend who represents what the world itself and the friendships to be found there is all about.
The blog post made me laugh, but also made me sit back and think how deeply fortunate we truly are to have a place like Second Life to bridge the distances that part us in the real, making it possible for us to meet one another and enjoy these years long relationships.
I first met Delinda at your show. I was in the audience watching her buzz around the set. She sent me a message from the back of the studio once she got everyone situated and said the kindest things. There is something immediately disarming about Delinda. No pretentiousness, no abrasiveness, nothing aloof about her. I didn’t have to know her very long at all before simply wanting to hug her every time I saw her. Sometime people can take time to get to, lifting the layers to find the human them beneath the avatar. Delinda shows you nothing but herself, her truth. She is a diamond in the rough, a friend those fortunate enough to know her count themselves blessed to have found. Every moment I’ve spent with her, either dancing at her place (While she’s wearing that hat with the loud speaker!) sitting with her at any one of a number of shows trading IM’s or whatever, is a complete joy. She warms a room with her vibrant personality. Most inspiring about her is the fact that she seems completely unaware how truly remarkable she is. She’s crazy funny, generous with her support – whether telling everyone in earshot to watch my show, or rallying her community to come and see her friend Tyrhel’s show, or telling the rest of us how highly she thinks of you, Pais, or supporting the music and arts community through the groundbreaking show she produces – the quality of person she is remains undeniable.
I adore her. Quite simply. She makes our world better by sharing it with the rest of us, by being a part of it. Nobody could have said it better than yourself. She is a treasure. Thanks for this blogpost, it is something that will resonate and ring true for any of us who know Delinda.
My nickname for her is ‘DD’. While we were working on the initial pre pre pre production of Fabulous Fashion, I had to earn my stripes backstage at TL as a Production Assistant. Delinda taught me the ropes, how to deal with nice (and not so nice) guests, how to make them comfortable while they wait anxiously for their interview with Pais, and all the other countless things that you need to know in order to pull off a successful show. She is the only person I allow around me to be completely corny because she is a master at it, I think 95% of her inventory is made up of gadgets, widgets and gestures and I think she pulls out at least 10 of each every single day. But I think that’s her way of keeping a circle of smiles and laughter around her, and those smiles are a source of strength for her through good times and bad. There is no beating around the bush with DD and that’s what I like about her, I can always count on her for the unedited truth and for the occasional teleport to a new place or performance that dazzles her so dam much that she just has to share it with everyone on her friends list. It’s her type of spirit that keeps Second Life worth logging into. Don’t ever change DD!
I remember Paisley first told me about HER IDEA to do Live n Kickin and MY first thoughts were oh yeah we have musicians play and interview them all that sort of stuff yeah that would be fun. Well people are already doing that including Paisley on Tonight Live and it works. But then Paisley told me what she wanted to do is film musicians all over the grid in fantastic locations and just do the music.. no interviews. To be honest I was a little shocked and surprised that “the interviewer” wanted to do a show with NO interviews. But of course I went along with this becasue I know Paisley has a unique creative talent for this sort of thing.
I think what makes Live n kickin a joy to watch is the simplicity of it.. its about the music.. its really a 30 min music video with multiple songs by one artist that also showcases the sims its filmed in.
The success of Live n Kickin is due to Paisley’s brilliantly simple format idea, the talented and hard working musicians who are on it, the amazing builders and sim owners who create the incredible locations and of course the experienced (they filmed live music professionally before there ever was a Treet.Tv) people behind the cameras that make it all come together live.
Now about ME.
