Paisley Beebe’s Anniversary Show This Sunday!

This week on Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe 6pm 27th June 2010

This week will mark the 3rd year anniversary of the first weekly TV Show in Second Life. Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe was the first weekly TV show broadcast in virtual reality, it launched on the 25th June 2007. Treet.tv filmed this first show after doing a test run of a short “what’s on” program and filming a live concert in Second Life, which is where I first met the Treet.tv team, of Noel, Wiz, Starr and Texas, who were collectively known as Cattle Puppy Productions at the time.

I was asked by them to stage manage the concert named the “Texas Aussie Music Party” which was filmed in March 2007 for Treet.tv, and was so challenged and exited by the show, I then wondered if Cattle Puppy were up for another show to be filmed in Second Life, a talk show. I was at the time working as a radio host in real life and wanted to try broadcasting on a new platform, particularly to promote Second Life residents via a new medium, virtual TV. I eventually gave up my real life hosting job, as the work in Second Life got more and more demanding, it soon became clear that the size of the Second Life audience totally eclipsed the real life radio audience I broadcast to in size, in fact by 10 fold in the first year.

To help myself  and my team at Perfect World Productions celebrate this huge acheivement, I’ve has asked two past guests on the show,  musician Astrin Few, and Rocket Man Troy McLuhan.  I also asked CEO of Treet.tv Wiz Nordberg to come on to talk about “old times”.

Troy McLuhan is “The Rocket Man!” I first met Troy when he hired me to sing at the grand opening of the New Space Port at the International Space Museum, here in Second Life, back in early 2007. Troy was booked to appear on our first T.L show but couldn’t get his computer working!!!! he then appeared on the 8th episode of T.L when he was still with the Space Museum. Troy is no longer with the ISM but involved in a new buisness venture!

We also invited Astrin Few back on the show for this anniversary as our musical guest. Astrin was the very first musician to play live in Second Life, and appeared on our second show, and as such, I think he has a unique viewpoint on the music scene in Second Life, that we are all so passionate about. Astrin also started the largest music group in Second Life called “Live Music Enthusiasts” Astrin famously threatened to leave Second Life after his frustration with the platform, and this Sunday we find out what he is up to now, and we will get to hear a rare performance by him on the show.

We also asked Wiz Nordberg CEO of Treet.tv to appear on the show, the bloke who, with myself, planned our first show, and then jumped in feet first to film it and broadcast it. Wiz Nordberg has allways been a very supportive collegue to myself and my companies ventures, without Treet.tv none of this would have been possible. I hope to enjoy some reminicing with Wiz, and perhaps share some insight to his future plans to come.
