Fabulous Fashion and Live n Kickin to close

It is with great sadness that I’m announcing the closure of “Fabulous Fashion With Angie Mornington” and our Music Show “Live n Kickin”. As you know Angie Mornington was already on hiatus due to some RL issues she had to deal with.

The time has come, for me to focus on both my Second Life Talk Show “Tonight Live” and a new and exiting real life buisness I’m starting with my PWP COO Bliss Windlow, called Women Who Dance With Frogs . Running all three shows has been very demanding, and whilst each have had a great success, its time for me to hand it on, or close it up.

I’d like to thank Angie Mornington for being such a huge part of Fab Fashion’s success, and I wish her well in whatever direction her life takes her. Angie was one of the most vivacious and fun people I have met on Second Life and her contribution to the show is immeasurable it was a pleasure working with her. I’d also like to thank Treet.tv for filming the show and broadcasting it, doing such a great job to make the clothes and designers and the host look so Fabulous. Thanks to Rysan Fall for the new intro, and Jackel Turog for the new logo. Thanks also to AutumnFox Sutherland for her directing, SuperDave for managing the Studio and finally not leastly Bliss Windlow for coming on board earlier this year and taking over directing and production. I’d also like to thank Maddox Dupont for designing and building the studio it is really amazing. I’d also like to thank the Designers and Stylists who gave up so much of their time to appear on the shows.

Kay Fairey and Bliss produced the last show which was over a week ago, featuring Amazing Designer Violator. It was a terrific show, the timing of this announcement has nothing what so ever to do with their efforts, it comes due to some RL issues I need to address, and a new direction I’d like to take with my own career. Both Bliss and Kay should, and can, hold their heads up high that they produced and hosted a top class show. I’d be more than happy to involve Kay Fairey in any other venture I start that could use her talents. Clearly I have a great deal of faith and admiration for Bliss Windlow as I’m investing in a real life business, that will be also involved in Second Life with her.

Live n Kicking is also closing for now. There are some negotiations going on right now that may see the show continue but I’m not at liberty to disclose those. Again I’d like to thank everyone involved in that show. The Musicians, the Sim owners, Delinda Dyrssen our wonderfull tireless producer, Treet.tv for filming it all over the Grid, and SuperDave Spearman for his Crowd control and management of the venues.

Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe is also going to a Bi-Weekly broadcast, this will give Bliss and myself a chance to plan even better shows and incorporate our new buisness into them and into our real life.

Its time for a refocussing of what I love to do. Whilst I love music,  and I love fashion, I need to consolidate, take stock, and move with the times. This year has been a great success, we at PWP achieved part of what we set out to do this year at the beginning, and the shows are finally paying for themselves. Sponsorship is 80% better than what it was at the beginning of the year, and demand for it is overwhelming. I have found great joy in selecting guests for our shows that have inspired and moved people into action or self discovery. And this will be our focus as well with our new format just damn good Stories and entertainment!

I’m personally very exited about this new venture that Bliss Windlow, Aria Appleford in RL and myself Leonie Smith in RL are about to undertake. It involves both of our RL and SL experiences and talents. I’ts difficult at this stage to say exactly what the company is from the stand point of a label. But its a very modern concept of interactive mixed reality events and interviews.

In RL Aria, travels the world advising companies and groups on many issues to do with personal relationships, interactions, councelling, HR, and Mediation amongst a lot of other things. She is a published Author, and was recently asked to speak at a conference held at the UN which she had to turn down as a family wedding took precedence. Aria will be talking more about her real life background on our New Website which is still being set up www.womenwhodancewithfrogs.com

Something I’ve learned about myself in the last 6 years is that I love to interview people,  I love to hear their stories, as I know you do. I enjoy helping people to share them. Not everyone (myself included) is good at public speaking, but via interview will open up, and share their experiences to move, inspire, inform and entertain. I saw an interview with Richard Branson on one of the TED talks a few months ago. Clearly a very shy public person, I believe he would not have been able to talk as he did with a prepared speech, but in an interview situation, whilst still obviously very nervous, we were able to get a sense of the man, and the the personal difficulties he overcame namely terrible Dyslexia, to achieve incredible wealth and success. What Aria and myself will be doing, is combining her skills at facilitation and organising forums, classes, and public speaking with my ability to arrange events, interview and choose great stories and guests to bring to you. This means that we will be holding forums, events and attending conferences in RL and simulcasting them into SL through Tonight Live and online radio style podcasts. Our new website will include lots of blog posts, mixed with the humourous, informative, and moving, and probably self indulgent musings on our crazy real and virutal lives! We will be interviewing guests both on Tonight Live and in Podcast depending on the circumstance, and doing mixed Reality events bridging SL and RL. Bringing real life guests into SL to a global audience and streamed on the web. Our events will be interactive though online chat Twitter, and in world and in RL. The people we will be inviting  to our programs will be many and varied and we are already building our Dream List. If there is someone in RL you would like to see be interviewed and talk to let us know…If you already have a group in SL that holds discussions, and you would like to collaborate again..let us know.

On December the 5th we will be doing one of our first events in this vein. We are bringing a very famous person into SL for a special, this person has had an incredible viral hit on You Tube that mixes the virtual with reality in an incredible way…more hints to come…

Why did we call our venture, “Women Who Dance With Frogs?” well…Bliss and I together have a ridiculous sense of humor, its a mix of Monty Python, Absolutely Fabulous, and really after a few late night Wines…the downright puerile….(for some reason it often involved animals..Cows and Towels…don’t ask…but believe me its all clean and humane…) When we were talking about what to call this, I thought of “Women Who Run With The Wolves”, a book that celbrates strong women who find their calling and who live without fear. But….of course we wanted something funny that summed up ourselves and our goal…and it just popped into my head and Bliss/Aria loved it!!…the great thing about this title is that its really self explanatory its about freedom to be silly and to have fun. Its also about inner strength, and I guess returning to our early girlhood,and its about kissing frogs, (um no I haven’t really done that, but knowing Bliss she probably has…) and the freedom to be seen as absolutely ridiculous….Its a statement of who Bliss/Aria and I are, and who we would like you all to be…(not just women but men too) to have the strength of character and courage to be strong and expose your inner dork…whilst giving a hat tip to the Author of “Woman Who Run With The Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés Leaving a known path can be hard, to veer off and take the path less travelled.. and whilst I’ll miss LnK and F.F and working with the people on it, we are both so exited to be starting a new venture!
