Tonight Live Augmented Reality, PonDman Haalan, PTSD

Augmented Reality…Have you heard that term? I know its been used in a almost mainstream way as of last year, particularly with a few apps on iphone, where you can hold up your phone, and get information about what your phone sees on the screen. The army have been using it for years, and Films like Minority report, and Iron Man have featured it. What is it exactly why are we seeing more about it? where will it take us? Roland LeGrand is Olando7 Decosta in Second Life Blogger of Mixed Realities he will be taking us through some of the exiting ideas for Augmented Reality and how it will be implemented in our daily lives.
PonDman Haalan Second Life Musician and Songwriter, brings his brand of music to the Tonight Live Stage This Sunday, and also talks about the Songwriting Workshop he has been involved in Second Life. Where professional Second Life Musicians talk about how they write and what the secrets of great songs are.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affects more people that you would realise. Its one of the hidden tragedies and the result of trauma of all varieties. You think someone is coping, but they can’t sleep, they have nightmares reliving the nightmare over and over again, they may forget things, and not be able to function in normal situations. The support for government agencies like Firefighters and Army veterans and Police is till very very small for those suffering with PTSD. And yet there is therapy, therapy that may help suffers to go on and lead functional and full lives. Axle Messerchmitt helped set up “Fearless Nation” here in Second Life. Fearless Nation in Second Life is a respite resort for people affected by PTSD, Fearless Nation also can help them get support and healing and education into their disorder. Tonight AXle will be talking to Paisley About what Fearless Nation is doing and what we need to know to help people with PTSD.

Ok So Total Head Trip!
I may never leave my virtual office again!
There are things that annoy me about the new viewer Beta 2 but wow this is not one of them.
Here I am in my home office in SL with Live n Kickin playing perfectly…..not jerky not broken up, but perfectly on my right monitor with Google Reader on the left. I have over 1000 blog posts I have to scroll thru to catch up on my reading, mostly cause Ive been working with the new viewer trying to work out how our audience members are going to find us, and hear us! but this was really fun..why?
Cause I can’t afford 2 monitors at home and squishing up windows has never been attractive. So here I am on my 22 inch screen at home with 2 sleek looking Mac monitors in my virtual home able to do exactly the same things as I could do if I had the monitors in my RL home!
I may never leave my Virtual home

Tonight Live has Virtual Goods, Kyle Beltran & Saving Trees!

What are virtual Goods? and why are Virtual Goods the fastest growing consumer items? Max Burns/Gatsby Crumb from Pixels and Policy blog will be taking us through these questions. Where did they come from? and where are they going, and who is making the most of this phenomenon. Now most people know by now, Im a non Gamer and I can’t stand Facebook Games, or Mafia Wars ect..I’ve never tried them. Why? cause I don’t like real life games either! I wan’t to cheat and get to the end of them. And Im a really sore loser. But clearly IM in the minority! All the tiny micro payments that people spend to send me flowers, or frogs or hearts on Face book…(wasted on me clearly) add up to billions of dollars for the creators and owners of these games. I’m very interested in the phycology behind these games and the gift giving, even if I don’t have any interest in sending any.

Virtual Haiti Relief’s Rhiannon Chatnoir will be on Tonight Live this week talking about how the fund raising for the victims of the Haiti Earthquake is going. And how they are going to keep it going. The most difficult part of trying to help victims of disasters is keep the public focus on the charities as the work will not be done for years and many years to come.
