Saffia Widdershins from Treet.tv Show “Designing Worlds” and Publisher will talk Mesh, the ability for designers to design out of Second Life and import the designs inworld, what does it mean for Second Life and how we experience our world, will it be more realistic? less prims? rezz faster?. Rockcliff University is the only True Virtual University in Second Life. It is not attached to any real life University, and  this year they are applying for Accreditation. They hold conferences, classes, lectures, and discussions. Its run  by academic  volunteers right now, and is non-profit in status. Phelan Corrimol is the Dean of Rockcliff University and this week he will be filling us in on what goes on there, the future of the university, and why its so unique.

Maxwell Graf from the incredible Sim Rustica talks about his controversial decision to delete his Sim Lagnmoor, in response to Linden Lab’s inaction on content theft. Maxwell Graf is the designer and builder of Rustica, his sims Lagnmoor and Rustica were all that remained of his 3 sims that he has been deleting one by one. Two weeks ago he deleted Lagnmoor. Lagnmoor held examples of his amazing fairytale style houses and a theatre that had views right across the sea to his Castle of Rustica. It was also where Tonight Live and Live n Kickin were filmed some time back. The Theatre on Lagnmoor was custom created for Tonight Live and stayed up long after the show. The Lagnmoor sim was simply stunning and up there in quality with many of the most renown sim designs ever seen in Second Life. So the Second Life community reacted with understandable shock and dismay when Maxwell announced he was going to delete the sim in response to constant content theft and Linden Lab’s seemingly unwillingness to ban the person who was proven to have been stealing Maxwell’s designs and selling them openly and brazenly in his store. Maxwell will be telling us the story behind the deletion which was movingly highlighted recently on another Treet.tv show Designing Worlds and filmed by Treet.tv.

We also meet and hear Second Life Musician Stratus MacTavish..don’t you just love that name! brings forth images of Kilts and bagpipes…but Stratus is far from that. He is a huge fan of Damien Rice, Counting Crows, Leonard Cohen, Incubus, Neil Young, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer… to name a few, so no trad Scottish music there…I “found” Stratus at the SLB7 celebration just happened upon his gig and was so taken with his great sound I invited him on the show. Im sure you will be impressed with his lovely voice and performance. (Actually I might request a kilt…there’s nothing sexier than a man in a Kilt! don’t you agree girls…and ummm some guys?)

Glyph Graves has a weird mind…..he does! Wow how did he come up with some of these things!..Glyph is an Aussie Artist, who has created some of the most innovative interactive pieces of Art ever seen in Second Life. He is taking the “Not Possible In Real Life” (Bettina Tizzy’s term) to extream. His “sculptures” if one can call them that, move when you get near them, they change form, they play music, they respond to IM’s they truly are interactive. But none of it is random, there is deep meaning in all of it…Glyph’s background in real life as a Biologist informs his work hugely, you can see it in his Snails, his jellyfish..(he calls them by their scientific names of course) and other life forms in this latest exhibit.  For someone who does not claim to be an artist in real life, he has embraced all of what virtual reality is with arms wide open! Right now Glyph has an exhibit on an IBM sponsored Sim, and if you spend time there you will discover all sorts of wonderfully suprising and beautifull experiences. Glyph will be bringing some of his morphing works into the studio for us to play with and playing with his work is what he enjoys. Can’t Wait!

This years Second Life Community Convention is being held in Boston USA in August, weekend of the 13th to the 15th. Unfortunately I won’t be going this year, like a lot of others, times are tough this year. But I’d love to be going, last years SLCC in San Francisco holds some very very fond memories for me. It was by far one of the most exiting and fun holidays I’ve ever had. Meeting people I’d met briefly in second Life and feeling as if I had cemented firm friendships. Having so many people with such a strong bond of a love of virtual reality was incredible. This Sunday we talk to one of the organisers of SLCC this year who was also involved last year, Rhiannon Chatnoir will tell us what to expect this year both at Boston and in world.

We also meet Sojurn Rossini Second Life Musician. Sojurn is very private about his music and his private life there is not much known about him and what propels him to express himself through live music in real life and in Second Life. So it will be interesting to find out what inspires him and what he gets out of appearing in Second Life.

World Of Warcraft has been in the news this week, because of Blizzard’s decision to enforce real life identities on the official World Of Warcraft forums. This has people in Second Life looking over their shoulders, wondering if this is the start of a trend. This week on Tonight Live we will meet Bonnie Nardi or Bonnie Lefavre as she is in Second Life,  who is the Author of  a book released last month concerning her experiences inside World of Warcraft called “My Life As A Night Elf Priest”. Bonnie Trained as Anthropologist and now Studies how people use Technology and how it transforms human life. Bonnie entered WOW to support a class she was teaching at university. Never being a gamer she was astounded at what she discovered in WOW and subsequently found she was a huge fan, and wanted everyone else to know about what goes on in WOW. What did she discover about human nature in the game? I have a list of about 30 questions….I won’t get thru them all but I find it a fascinating subject. AutumnFoxx Sutherland could not be at the 3rd Anniversary Party today, she is very unwell. But I wanted her to know how much she was missed. I thanked her in my speech for all her tireless work for the shows, her dedication to excellence and her reliability. And I also should have added her ability to stay calm under enormous pressure. She is a Warrior Princess battling huge personal health battles and I wish we could fight those monsters along side her. Autumn please get well, we miss you dear.

Here I am a moment ago saying goodbye to the Theatre that Max Graf Built me. Yep he built this theatre for my show Tonight Live, by tomorrow it will be gone, because Max has been constantly stolen from by an Avatar here in Second Life, who has had a DMCA filed against him successfully, and as such has been proven as a theif, but that is not enough to get his Avatar banned from Second Life, and not enough to get L.L to delete the obviously stolen goods. So Max in frustration is cutting his loses, and we are all the poorer from it. We held 2 broadcasts here, and a more beautifull surounding you could not find. Im really mad as hell about this, on his behalf. L.L lab should be courting creators like Max and bending over backwards to help him shakes head. Hat Tip to Crap Mariner for highlighting this in his post

Farewell LagNmoor and my theatre I will miss you greatly.
