Club Penguin has had house and land packages from the very start. A place that a noobie can retreat to, to get dressed by furniture and feel “at home” This new idea from Linden Lab to create a similar idea in Second Life has been met with mixed feelings with some loving the idea and others decrying it.

Jack Linden is coming on Tonight Live this Sunday to talk about the official release of Linden Homes and Land package for new premium users, that also comes with a bonus $1000L. Paisley will be asking questions about how it will all work and what Jack Lindens take is, on some peoples complaint that Linden Lab is now competing with residents for real estate.

Music sensation Skye Galaxy kept his real life persona very private when he first entered Second Life, he joined Second Life after being bed riden for a time. Not revealing who he was in real life soon became very difficult to disguise as he became more and more popular as a Singer Musician in our world. Skye Galaxy will be singing a new song on Paisley’s Show, come hear this new incredible musician and singer that everyone is talking about. Paisley will be also interviewing Skye about his plans for the future in 2010.

Notice that your grandma, or someone else’s grandma now has an email address or even a Facebook page? How does internet and computer use, now connect our ageing population with other new networks or even now their once far-away family? More and more older people are using the Net and these are people who grew up with the telephone being their only technological method of communication, unlike our newer generations. Katie Vizenor or Bathsheba Darkstone as she is known in Second Life is a Anthropology Doctoral Student at SUNY-Buffalo. Recently she presented a talk on Aged use of the internet  at Virtualbility. Bathsheba will be talking about about her presentation on Paisley’s show.

Sean Kagalis.. Strum Diesel in SL began playing guitar and writing songs at 13.  A year later he landed his first gig at an old rundown Daytona Beach, Florida gas station turned biker-bar dubbed Charlie’s.  After receiving the approval of a presumably tough audience, Sean began to realize that being a performing songwriter was his destiny.   Just a few years later  Sean performed his song  ”.. and I failed social studies that year ” at the 1999 International Conference on Non-Violence, which was held at the Doctor Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta, Georgia.  The song is a narration of childhood experiences growing up in a predominantly racist community in Lake County, Florida. Personal experience is the primary source for subject matter in Sean’s work.

When he’s not lamenting his heartbreak, or the heartbreak he has created, his voice is dedicated to explicating socio-political issues that are constantly perverted or altogether ignored by mainstream media.  Click here for Strum’s performance and  interview on Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe.

Being the down to earth kinda guy he is we decided to match up Strum with Hobo Island for his Live N Kickin Performance.

SecondLife Hobos have a long history in Second Life and the group originates from Calleta’s Hobo Railroad and Information Hub.  Bonehead Goalpost and her assorted hobo friends built Hobo Island is not as a replacement for Calleta, but to allow Second Life Hobos to expand their activities in social networking, teaching others, providing an outstanding sand box, and in reducing bothersome lag.  Second Life hobos are also known to be some of the best builders around!  Wait till you see  Aitolda Cooljoke ’s build “ Castaway Cove ” where Strum will be performing.

What is Open Sim? Often gets confused with what used to be Open Space. Open Sim is the alternative to Linden Lab’s Second Life based on the Open source code L.L released some time back there are new Virtual worlds and platforms springing up all over the place. The Open sim project ReactionGrid officially opened to the public on Jan 1 2009. ReactionGrid is owned and maintained by Kyle and Robin Gomboy 
and Chris Hart. Reaction Grid are a virtual world hosting and development solution as well as a consulting firm to advise others on the best virtual world fit for their use. Recently on Tonight Live we interviewed Jokay Wollongong about her project on Reaction Grid and needed to find out more about them. Kyle and Robin will be joining us this Sunday to explain their goals and why they decided to open Reaction Grid and what they offer as an alternative to Second Life.

This week on Tonight Live  we bring you Pets. breed-able, wearable, all types. Why have em? What do they do? Sapphira Laval a Partner in the “Boxed Turtle of Avalar” shop in Second life, who is a huge fan of virtual pets will tell us the secrets of owning pets and why this is one of the most amazing phenomenon’s to hit the grid for the people that sell them and the people that own them. She and her partners at “Boxed Turtle” beta tests newly released pets and she told us that she has a suprise for us on the show!

We also meet an incredibel finger pickin guitarist who has found a huge following here in second life. Frets Nirvana, he plays anyhing from George Harrison songs to classical blue grass. His playing is amazing and his musical journey is quite a story also.

Frets has been in the music business all his life.  He owned a commercial recording studio for a number of years.  And as such was the owner and main recording engineer recording all kinds of music.   This was not just a home studio but a full fledged commercial studio for hire.  He also played on sessions as a guitar player at times.

Frets also got into marketing and sales and was the Director of Marketing for Gibson guitar for about five years.  And got to know and integrate with a number of high profile artists.  Including Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Aerosmith, The Eagles and many more.

He actually quit playing guitar on a regular basis for quite a few years due to all of this other activity.  And only got back to playing guitar a little over five years ago, which is when he started playing fingerstyle guitar, having never played that style before.

Australia is in the grip of a censorship crisis. The Australian Govt.has announced that the Australian Internet is to be censored, with a filter and a Black List, starting around March of this year. This Announcement has caused outrage in the Australian IT community the intellectual community, and civil Rights groups, both here in Australia and Overseas.

The biggest concern for internet users in Australia is that the task to effectivley screen out the really bad internet nasties may mean that other innocent sites may also get caught up in the filter, and also that the filters may degrade our allready sub-par internet experience, Australia allready having a very slow and limited Internet.

What does this do to our basic civil rights? Is Australia sliding backwards to the bad old days of the 50′s with this move? Or leading the way in a new trend to further the so called “Nanny State”
