Tonight Live Is UP! Great Music, & What Can L.Lab Learn From InWorldz? Greeters Anyone?

What a shame we don’t film the rehearsals…..honestly our rehearsal was like an episode of “Saturday Night Live”, everyone got on soooo well! Not surprising really, Bliss Windlow and Jim Tarber of course shared some stories from the “Old Country”.. being Canadian…and of course felt an affinity right from the start! ..Myself and Danish Lady….um Lady Sakai…talked Royal families…as “Our Mary” has turned the 1000 year old Viking stock of the Danish Royals into Aussies…Yay! ….And Reggie…an American, fitted in really well with the folks from InWorldz and their hippy like love of all Avatar kind, with his folky roots!

All jokes aside…well not all jokes..we left some in…ReggieSunset Rookwood is amazing…such a wonderful Musician, and I have to credit our Music Producer Tangle Giano for bringing him onto the show, I had just been to Reggie’s Gig the day Tangle told me he was booked for the show! Reggie moved us all with his absolutely stunning songwriting/singing and playing of his original Tune “Allways Home For You”. Reggie quit music for a long time, and in this interview he explains why, and why he is now getting back into music again, thankfully for us and all his new fans.

I’ve been spending some time in InWorldz lately renting some land there, and really enjoying discovering this Virtual World. It was really nice to meet Lady Sakai and Jim Tarber, who had been helping me some during my settling in via IM in InWorldz. In talking with them both on the show, its really evident that despite the comparisions with SL that the InWorldz folks really wish Second Life all success, but have InWorldz have in a way, harkened back to the “good all days” of S.L, when noobs were actually welcomed and helped to find their way when they first Rez, and when the community was a lot smaller and a lot more freindly. I think the “boys” at the Lab could take a close look at InWorldz, particularly at InWorldz entry point and the communication that the owners have with their customers. Jim and Lady talk about what its like to start again…and what they miss from Second Life and what they would never go back for…

Musician POL Arida from Edinburgh Scotland sang a rousing song about Government Surveillance “Get Me Out Of Here” And explained why he started writing music again after a 15 years absence and what Second Life means to him.

ARCHAIC REDEMPTION FILM

Anthony Brownrigg real life horror Film Maker, talked about his upcoming film called Archaic Redemption. How it was conceived in Second Life, how Second Life and the role playing sim of City Of Lost Angels was its inspiration and how he used Second Life to workshop the script and plan out the scenes. Tempest Ella was scheduled to appear, but unfortunately due to her situation in Christchurch New Zealand with the recent earth quake destroying her house, she was unable to be online for the show. We were disappointed not to have been able to contact her, and wish her and her family well in this time of great loss and distress. The sim she owns has been raising money for her and her family. 6 March Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe is UP!

 

This weeks show was a BLINDER! a full sim with a LOT of spirited talk from the guests and the Audience both in world and online!

Breedable Pet NEW RELEASE!

We talked about a wonderful new Breedable that has to be seen to be believed, audience members and viewers couldn’t wait to get there hand on it! and were begging to be given one after the show…Oprah style…sorry folks…MenuBar Memorial needs the dosh! SonyaJevette Charisma!

We met SonyaJevette Charisma, a stunning vocalist who wowed everyone with her fantastic voice and musicianship, watch as she and paisley wax lyrical about retirement homes…um…I mean wild nights out on the Town! and how Sonya went to Vegas! and who knows what went on there…ect…Thanks to Crap Mariner for the Pic above…I notice Crap always makes sure to get Misty in shot…and looking better than I do!!

GreenZone vs RedZone Privacy in SL none?

Finally we talked to GreenZone Representative Azure Twine about the very worrying security Privacy hole in all the Second Life Viewers that is causing peoples I.P addresses and Alts to be revealed and kept on a Data Base NOT belonging to Linden Lab. There have been threats to publish the data base and take the device that collects YOUR info underground. Something needs to be done about this privacy violation before you get your avatar scanned. 22 thousand devices on the grid apparently..so you probably have already been scanned and your details and alts are named in the data base that a private SL resident has charge of…. We all expose our I.P addresses for sure..but does google or Linden lab then give our alt names to whoever has money to buy them, and it ain’t much to buy….Azure explains it very well, why this issue should have all users in SL up in arms and demanding some protection from Linden Lab, in very simple terms that we can all understand plus she reveals that there are other devices on the grid that people are using to see where you are going, every minute of your time on SL….and nope you didn’t agree or ask for that.

We send our condolences and support to Tempest Ella who’s RL house and all her belongings have been lost and destroyed in the recent NewZealand Earthquake. Tempest was not even able to get word to us until late last week, that she lost her computer and absolutely everything, until she found somewhere to get online. We will be having her on the show with Anthony hopefully in the next while before the film comes out. I will update this blog with any information I get as to how to help her out. If anyone knows anything being arranged as a fund raiser for her please let me or Bliss Windlow in world. We will do what we can to help. Thanks to MenuBar Memorial for stepping into the spot, and providing the show with some much needed light hearted relief! I hope you sell heaps of them my friend!

Tonight Live With Paisley Beebe Is UP! Sun 20th Feb

This weeks show 20th Feb 2011 is now available on the WEB! and on iTunes Subscribe for FREE and get the show downloaded to iTunes automatically each Episode!

Another fantastic crowd showed up at Sailors Cove this Sunday to support our guests, Shaqq Korobase/Dr Anton Bogdanovych RL who explained how he had programed AI in Second Life to perform tasks that would have been done in 3000 BC Summeria to interact and teach university students. Shaqq also talked about how Motion Capture suits and software would be used in the future in Second Life and how Video Capture for Motion is still not able to replace Motion Capture suits,and why?

We also heard Shadez Rhapsody, a really fantastic Musician here in Second Life who uses his SL shows to create songs from jumbled phrases collected from the crowds, and interacts with his audience in a unique and entertaining way.

Finally we also met SecondLie Scribe Star  of Treet.tv and the “Grids Honest Truth” SecondLie was filling in for Rod Humble who couldn’t make this weeks show due to an previous engagement with Oprah……SecondLie and Paisley talk Lies’ Truth, and Other stupid interviews that Mr Humble has done with Second Lie giving his opinion on what Mr H should have said…

All in all a great show! See the video below and enjoy!

PS: All jokes aside Mr Humble is likely to appear on our show when he has had time to acclimatise himself more to Second Life, which I think is actually admirable as he could have just come on with a puppeteer….but that would NOT have done for our fearless Leader! Apparently he is not ready for any TV interviews just yet!

Tonight Live With Paisley Beebe HBO Director of “When Strangers Click” 1000 Avatars Project & Trueblood!

Yesterday’s Show (Despite the Salad Bowl on at the same time)…was Packed!

We started the show talking to Gracie Kendal about her 2 recent projects in Second Life the Gracie Kendal Project, and her very popular 1000 Avatar Project. She had a lot of support in the audience from people who loved what she was exploring in here our releationship with our avatars, and who had in fact been one of her photographed subjects as part of the 1000 avatar project. Gracie has learned a lot about ourselves and our avatars during these 2 projects and has more interesting working coming up!

We also met Enoch Mildor our Resident Spotlight this week who talked about his Trueblood Role playing Sim and the opening of a new Ballroom there, sounds like they have some great ideas coming up for those of us that like the bitten edge of life!

It was wonderfull to finally meet Robert Kenner the Director of the HBO Documentary “When Strangers Click” find out more here and to interview both him and Bara Jonson the Swedish Musician Featured on this Documentary about people who find love online. The Second Life part of the Documentary is only one of 5 stories featured in the new documentary which will be shown on HBO in the USA starting with a premier on the 14th February 2011. It will then be shown on HBO from the 14th Feb – 23rd Feb at different times during the day .

General feedback on the web chat, and in the studio about the interview about the HBO documentary was positive, the clip we showed which is also on this video above hadn’t been seen publicly up until now, and seemed to allay many people’s concerns about this documentary showing Second Life in once again a bad light, as a place where its all about weird sex, and smut.

What A Great Show to start 2011!

We had a full house for this show!

On this episode, Wiz Nordberg talked about what is happening with Media inside of Second Life and in Real Life and where its all heading, pay for content? Wiz also talks about Treet.tv’s future and what they are going to be offering Second Life Producers this year.

Pete Mroz/Pilgrim Swashbuckler sang an incredible song from his upcoming Album, and then talked about his plans for his next Album, about Kickstarter an online program for raising funds for startups and creative projects, and how he reacted to the incredible disappointment at losing an investor when he was a week away from recording with a famous Record Producer.

Pathfinder Lester nee Linden talked about his days at Linden Lab, what he thinks about their new CEO, and where Linden Lab need to concentrate their efforts now to get Second Life Back on the Map. About their Marketing, and about his thoughts on Interoperability between virtual Worlds, and his disappointment with the Education Sector losing their benefits from Linden Lab.

Linden Lab’s Future? with Pathfinder Lester, Pete Mroz Project, Media in S.L Wiz Nordberg Treet.tv CEO

This is our first show back for 2011, we wanted a fitting way to start the new year. New directions? new projects? new ideas? In Second Life many people are starting to feel optimistic, after a few years where it really looked like it was all going to hell in a prim basket!

Media in SL is changing, from what was once, real life journalists in-bedding themselves in second Life and reporting on it, to what it is primarily now, Second Life residents, most with no background in media at all, taking control of it, and publishing their own news from within. Far from shrinking in Second Life, Media, in all forms, Machinima, Machinima TV, Blogs, Prim based and online Magazines, Radio, Podcasting is more prolific than it ever has been, but mainly from Second Life residents, not from real world media stallwarts who from about late 2008 started to pull out of Second Life. Wiz Nordberg is the CEO of Treet.tv our Broadcaster, and partner. He and Treet.tv started Television Media in Second Life, we ask him for his observations, what he sees as being necessary to grow this industry in Second Life and where to now?

I was “Made Over” by the hipsters Laika and James for this show, but I’m not sure I felt any hipper…I kinda felt like Paisley Perk rather than Paisley Park, I don’t think I’m cool enough inside…you have to have the right attitude, and I definitely don’t! But I thank the guys for trying to hip no tize me

Pixel Valley Studios partner ILLBixby Cerveau gave a fascinating insight into how they are using Machinima for commercial purposes and why the clients are loving it! some very interesting observations on where Machinima was back in 1998 also!

Bones Writer from TRAX Music resources in S.L talked about Musicians in Second Life, why some are leaving why some are staying? and what makes a great Musician in Second Life. What you need to succeed!

Laika Saintlouis and James Schwartz are the Slipsters…their Second Life Take on Hipsters, those slightly cool but nerdy not hippy but funky looking folks that hang around in Coffee shop bookshops, looking like they just threw all this on…with that “Oh this oh this was my dads girlfriends old scarf, and I’ve had this for ages” look. How to get the look right without going all Bag Lady…and what the Hipster “movement” is all about! As you can see above the crowd were all so hipster school girl for the show, including some surprising organic earrings…(James said they were radishes?) Many bananas were eaten and shared around…must be an in-joke…Watch and enjoy! and look out for some great audience shots this week!
